Job Description
Are you an energetic and outgoing individual with a passion for music and local events? Capital FM North East is looking for a dynamic Promotions Assistant to join our lively team. This hands-on role is crucial for bringing our brand directly to our audience across Gateshead and the wider North East. You’ll be the face of Capital at various events, driving our promotional van, setting up engaging displays, and interacting with listeners, all while creating a buzz for our station. If you love being out and about, meeting new people, and driving excitement, this is the perfect opportunity for you!
Key Responsibilities
- Safely drive and maintain the Capital FM promotional vehicle to various events and locations.
- Set up and dismantle promotional displays, marquees, and equipment efficiently.
- Engage directly with the public, distributing promotional merchandise and collecting listener feedback.
- Represent Capital FM North East professionally at all times, embodying our brand values.
- Assist with the planning and execution of on-site promotions, contests, and giveaways.
- Coordinate with the wider promotions and programming teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Capture photos and videos from events for social media and internal reporting.
- Ensure all promotional materials and equipment are accounted for and in good condition.
Required Skills
- Valid full UK driving license with a clean driving record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required by events.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for event setup and inventory.
- Ability to lift and carry promotional equipment (up to 20kg).
- Basic understanding of social media platforms for event content capture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in promotions, customer service, or event support.
- Familiarity with the Gateshead and wider North East geographical area.
- A genuine interest in radio, music, and local events.
- Basic technical aptitude for setting up sound equipment or interactive displays.
