Job Description
We are actively seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as Parcel Sorters for night shifts in Thunder Bay. This is an immediate start position with full training provided, meaning no prior experience is necessary. You will be responsible for accurately sorting packages and ensuring they are loaded onto the correct trucks for timely delivery, contributing to the smooth operation of our busy distribution center.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately sort packages and parcels according to destination codes and established procedures.
- Load and unload packages from trailers and conveyor belts, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Scan packages using handheld devices to track movement and update system records.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and meet operational targets.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety regulations.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg) regularly.
- Physical stamina to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods during a night shift.
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate sorting of parcels.
- Reliability and punctuality for scheduled night shifts.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all operational guidelines.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment (not required, but a plus).
- Ability to work effectively within a team.
- Basic understanding of scanning technology or willingness to learn.
