Job Description

Join Kirklees Council as a Parking Enforcement Officer and play a vital role in maintaining the smooth flow of traffic and ensuring fair parking practices across Huddersfield. This is a crucial public-facing position where you will be responsible for enforcing parking regulations, educating the public, and contributing to the safety and accessibility of our streets. We are looking for individuals who are reliable, have excellent communication skills, and are comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions. Full training will be provided to ensure you have all the knowledge and tools needed to succeed in this role, and a uniform will be supplied.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol designated zones to identify and address parking violations.
  • Issue Penalty Charge Notices (PCNs) accurately and fairly.
  • Operate handheld electronic devices for recording and processing violations.
  • Provide clear and courteous information to the public regarding parking regulations and potential inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete necessary paperwork.
  • Report defective signage, road markings, and other relevant issues.
  • Adhere to all council policies and procedures.
  • Represent Kirklees Council professionally to the public.
