Job Description
Are you detail-oriented, customer-focused, and eager to learn about valuations and retail sales? H&T Pawnbrokers in Southampton is looking for a dedicated Pawn Shop Broker / Appraiser Assistant to join our dynamic team. This entry-level position offers comprehensive training in appraising a wide variety of items, assisting with sales, and providing exceptional customer service. You will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our store, helping customers with their financial needs and their buying/selling experiences. If you have a passion for learning and a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply – no prior experience in pawnbroking is required!
Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior brokers and appraisers in evaluating items for pawnbroking or outright purchase, including jewellery, electronics, and luxury goods.
- Provide friendly and professional customer service, explaining our services clearly and accurately.
- Support the sales team by processing transactions, managing inventory, and assisting customers with product inquiries.
- Perform basic administrative duties, including data entry and maintaining accurate records.
- Handle cash and card payments responsibly and accurately.
- Maintain the cleanliness and presentation of the store and display areas.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance standards.
- Continuously learn and develop expertise in product knowledge and appraisal techniques.
