Job Description

The Global Peace Initiative is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Peacebuilding & Conflict Resolution Intern to join our dynamic team in Guildford. You will support our senior researchers and program managers in various aspects of our peacebuilding projects, from data collection and analysis to report drafting and event coordination. Key Responsibilities

  • Assist senior researchers in conducting literature reviews and data collection on peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and related international development topics.
  • Support the analysis of qualitative and quantitative data, contributing to research reports and policy briefs.
  • Draft sections of internal memos, external communications, and project proposals.
  • Prepare background materials and presentations for meetings, workshops, and seminars.
  • Help organize and coordinate internal and external events, including logistical support and participant outreach.
  • Maintain and update databases relevant to ongoing projects.
  • Contribute to the organization's social media and communication efforts related to research findings.

Required Skills

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in International Relations, Political Science, Conflict Studies, Peace Studies, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated strong interest in peacebuilding, conflict resolution, and international affairs.
  • Excellent research and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English, with strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of an additional language (e.g., Arabic, French, Spanish, Russian).
  • Familiarity with qualitative or quantitative research methodologies.
  • Previous volunteer or academic project experience related to the field.
  • Experience with data analysis software (e.g., NVivo, SPSS) is a plus but not required.
