Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and enthusiastic Farm Worker to join our team in Coventry. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about agriculture, enjoy working outdoors, and are physically capable of performing a variety of farm tasks. You will be an integral part of our daily operations, contributing to the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of crops, as well as general farm maintenance. This is an on-site position requiring dedication and a willingness to learn and adapt to seasonal demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with all aspects of crop production, including planting, weeding, watering, and harvesting.
  • Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment safely, after receiving appropriate training.
  • Perform general farm maintenance tasks such as fencing repair, tidying, and upkeep of farm buildings.
  • Monitor crop health, identifying and reporting any signs of pests, diseases, or nutrient deficiencies.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Contribute to animal care activities if applicable to the specific farm section (e.g., feeding, cleaning).
  • Work effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly and supporting colleagues.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed and observations.
  • Prepare produce for market, including washing, sorting, and packing.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and stamina, with the ability to lift and carry heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety practices in a workplace environment.
  • A positive attitude and eagerness to learn new skills.
  • Adaptability to seasonal changes and diverse tasks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (approximately 6 months) in a farm environment, horticulture, or other outdoor manual labor.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to personal transport due to farm location.
  • Experience with operating basic farm machinery (e.g., tractors, forklifts).
  • Relevant agricultural qualifications or certifications.
