Job Description

Nuffield Health Coventry Hospital is seeking an accomplished and compassionate Plastic Surgeon to join our esteemed surgical team. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a leading healthcare charity, providing exceptional surgical care and enhancing the quality of life for our patients. The successful candidate will be responsible for a wide range of plastic and reconstructive surgical procedures, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to deliver personalised treatment plans. You will be dedicated to upholding the highest standards of clinical excellence and patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient consultations, accurately assessing needs and developing tailored treatment plans.
  • Perform a variety of plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgical procedures with precision and expertise.
  • Provide exemplary post-operative care and follow-up, ensuring optimal patient recovery and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate effectively with anaesthetists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient pathways.
  • Maintain meticulous patient records, adhering to all clinical and regulatory guidelines.
  • Actively participate in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in plastic surgery through continuous professional development.

Required Skills

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise.
  • Entry on the Specialist Register for Plastic Surgery.
  • Demonstrable experience in a broad range of plastic and reconstructive surgical techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues.
  • Strong commitment to patient safety and ethical practice.
  • Proven ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Plast) or equivalent.
  • Membership of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS).
  • Sub-specialty interest or fellowship training in a specific area of plastic surgery.
  • Experience in teaching or mentoring junior medical staff.
