Job Description

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? The Brantford Police Service is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as a Police Community Support Trainee. Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with community members to build positive relationships and address local concerns.
  • Provide non-emergency public assistance and information, directing inquiries appropriately.
  • Assist police officers with administrative tasks, data entry, and report preparation.
  • Participate in community outreach programs and events, representing the Brantford Police Service.
  • Conduct visible patrols in designated areas to deter crime and foster a sense of security.
  • Support crime prevention initiatives and educational campaigns.
  • Document interactions and observations accurately and professionally.
  • Adhere to all departmental policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Required Skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a desire to help others.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Valid Ontario Class G driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check, including a criminal record check.
  • Basic computer proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous volunteer experience in community service or public-facing roles.
  • Knowledge of the Brantford community and its diverse population.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
