Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Public Housing Coordinator to join our Housing Services team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in the effective management and coordination of public housing programs, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and local policies. You will work closely with tenants, stakeholders, and internal departments to provide comprehensive support, promote tenant welfare, and maintain high standards across our housing portfolio. This role requires a compassionate individual with strong organizational skills and a commitment to public service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of public housing properties and tenant accounts, ensuring timely rent collection and tenancy agreement compliance.
  • Conduct regular property inspections, identifying maintenance needs and coordinating repairs with contractors.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for tenants, addressing enquiries, concerns, and mediating disputes.
  • Process housing applications, conduct eligibility assessments, and facilitate new tenancy sign-ups.
  • Provide advice and support to tenants on housing benefits, welfare assistance, and community resources.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases related to housing stock, tenancy agreements, and tenant interactions.
  • Prepare reports on housing performance, occupancy rates, and compliance metrics for management review.
  • Collaborate with social services, community groups, and other agencies to support vulnerable tenants.
  • Ensure all housing operations adhere to relevant legislation, including the Housing Act and local council policies.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for site visits.
