Job Description
BC Transit is seeking dedicated and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Public Transit Bus Cleaner on the Night Shift in Kelowna. This full-time position comes with a comprehensive benefits package and offers a stable work environment with opportunities to contribute to the cleanliness and safety of our fleet. You will play a crucial role in ensuring our buses are presentable and sanitized for the thousands of passengers who rely on our service daily. Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough interior cleaning of transit buses, including floors, seats, windows, and driver's area.
- Empty waste receptacles and replace liners.
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces such as grab rails, seatbacks, and stanchions.
- Wash exterior windows and perform spot cleaning as needed.
- Restock bus supplies such as route schedules and information pamphlets.
- Report any damage, maintenance issues, or unusual conditions observed during cleaning.
- Operate cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a night shift environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work.
- Physical stamina to perform demanding cleaning tasks, including bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality.
- Basic understanding of health and safety practices.
- Ability to follow instructions and safety guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services.
- Valid Class 5 British Columbia Driver's License or equivalent.
- Familiarity with cleaning chemicals and equipment.
