Job Description

We are seeking dedicated and hardworking individuals to join our team as Railroad Track Maintenance Workers. This challenging and rewarding role involves extensive travel across various locations to maintain and repair railroad tracks, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our rail network. This is a hands-on position requiring physical stamina, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work in diverse weather conditions. Due to the critical nature of our infrastructure, this role offers high pay commensurate with the demanding travel and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, maintain, and repair railroad tracks, rail beds, and rights-of-way.
  • Operate various hand tools and heavy equipment such as spike pullers, tie removers, and rail grinders.
  • Replace defective ties, rails, and other track components.
  • Clear vegetation and debris from the track area.
  • Perform track surfacing, lining, and gauging tasks.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and regulations.
  • Work as part of a team to complete assigned projects efficiently and safely.
  • Travel extensively to various work sites, often staying overnight or for extended periods.
  • Respond to emergency calls for track repairs as needed.

Required Skills

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
  • Strong physical stamina and endurance.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively for work, often with short notice.
  • Mechanical aptitude and ability to use various tools and equipment.
  • Commitment to working safely in demanding outdoor environments.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment physical and drug screening.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in construction, heavy equipment operation, or a similar physically demanding role.
  • Experience working in railroad maintenance or similar outdoor industrial environments.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Basic welding or cutting experience.
