Job Description
Join our dedicated team as a Refuse Loader / Bin Collector in Temecula, CA. This physically demanding role involves working outdoors in all weather conditions, ensuring efficient and safe collection of waste and recyclables from residential and commercial properties. You will be an integral part of keeping our community clean and healthy. We offer early morning starts, a consistent work schedule, and weekly pay. Full training will be provided to ensure all safety protocols are understood and followed, making this an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for stable employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently collect waste and recycling materials from designated routes.
- Operate hydraulic lift mechanisms to empty refuse bins into the collection vehicle.
- Walk alongside or ride on the back of a refuse truck for extended periods, frequently getting on and off.
- Assist the driver in maneuvering the vehicle by providing clear guidance and hand signals.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and company policies at all times to ensure personal and public safety.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of collection equipment as required, reporting any issues.
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding route status or issues.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment within and around the collection vehicle.
- Interact professionally and courteously with customers and the public when necessary.
Required Skills
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds, bending, twisting, and standing/walking for long durations.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Strong commitment to safety regulations and procedures.
- Reliable and punctual with an excellent attendance record.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions.
- Basic communication skills to interact with colleagues and the public.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar physically demanding role (e.g., construction, warehouse, landscaping).
- Familiarity with waste collection processes and equipment is a plus but not required.
- Knowledge of local waste disposal regulations or routes.
