Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our esteemed team in Stoke-on-Trent. As an RMN with Cygnet Health Care, you will play a crucial role in delivering person-centred care to individuals experiencing acute mental health challenges. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in patients’ lives, working within a multidisciplinary team to implement evidence-based interventions and support recovery pathways. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, ensuring the highest standards of safety and clinical excellence. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and formulate care plans in collaboration with service users and their families.
- Administer medication safely and effectively, adhering to NMC guidelines and hospital policies.
- Provide therapeutic interventions, including individual and group therapy, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation.
- Monitor and review the physical and mental health of service users, reporting changes and escalating concerns as necessary.
- Maintain accurate, clear, and concise patient records.
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, communicating regularly and contributing to care plan discussions.
- Promote a safe, therapeutic, and recovery-focused environment.
- Participate in clinical supervision, training, and professional development activities.
- Adhere to all relevant policies, procedures, and statutory requirements, including safeguarding and health and safety.
Required Skills
- Valid NMC registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage challenging situations.
- Strong commitment to patient safety and quality care.
- Understanding of relevant legislation, including the Mental Health Act.

Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year post-registration experience in an acute mental health setting.
- Experience with specific therapeutic models (e.g., CBT, DBT).
- Proven ability to mentor and supervise junior staff.
- Up-to-date knowledge of best practice in mental health nursing.
