Job Description
We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Remote Spreadsheet Auditor specializing in Accuracy & Finance to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity and precision of our financial data, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations. You will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and verifying complex financial spreadsheets, identifying discrepancies, and proposing corrective actions. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to contribute significantly from anywhere within the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough audits of financial spreadsheets to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to established protocols.
- Identify and document anomalies, errors, and inconsistencies in financial data.
- Develop and implement audit trails to track changes and data integrity within spreadsheets.
- Collaborate with finance teams to understand data sources, reporting requirements, and potential areas for improvement.
- Prepare detailed audit reports outlining findings, recommendations, and corrective actions.
- Assist in the development and refinement of spreadsheet auditing procedures and best practices.
- Ensure all auditing activities comply with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
- Provide training and support to team members on best practices for spreadsheet management and data accuracy.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial concepts
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with data auditing and reconciliation processes
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field
- Relevant certification (e.g., AAT, ACCA, CIMA part-qualified)
- Experience with other spreadsheet software or financial systems (e.g., Google Sheets, SAP, Oracle)
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP)
- Previous experience in an auditing or financial analysis role
