Job Description

Are you passionate about horses and eager to share that passion with others? Green Meadows Equestrian Centre is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join us as a Trainee Riding Instructor. This is a unique opportunity for someone with little to no prior professional instructing experience, as full comprehensive training will be provided. You will learn all aspects of becoming a competent and confident riding instructor, from horse care and stable management to lesson planning and teaching methodologies. If you have a strong work ethic, a genuine love for horses, and a desire to help others learn, we want to hear from you. This role offers a structured pathway to achieve professional equestrian qualifications while working as part of a supportive and friendly team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in a structured training program to develop riding instruction skills.
  • Assist experienced instructors during lessons, helping with horse preparation and student support.
  • Learn and practice various teaching techniques for riders of different ages and abilities.
  • Support daily stable duties, including mucking out, feeding, and grooming horses.
  • Assist with tacking up and untacking horses for lessons.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of riders and horses at all times.
  • Maintain a clean and organised yard and tack room.
  • Shadow senior instructors to observe effective lesson delivery and client management.
  • Attend workshops and internal training sessions as required.

  • Previous experience riding horses (recreational is fine).
  • Experience working with children or in a customer service role.
  • A valid First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
