No prior experience with HGV/CDL is required – we provide comprehensive, fully paid HGV (Heavy Goods Vehicle) licensing training, equipping you with the skills and qualifications needed to become a professional Sanitation Truck Driver. This is a vital role, ensuring the efficient and safe collection of waste, contributing directly to the cleanliness and health of local neighbourhoods. Key Responsibilities
- Participating actively in all aspects of the HGV driver training program, including classroom and practical sessions.
- Learning and mastering safe and efficient operation of refuse collection vehicles under supervision.
- Assisting in the collection of domestic and commercial waste from designated routes.
- Conducting daily vehicle checks and reporting any defects promptly.
- Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations, company policies, and driving laws.
- Providing excellent customer service to residents and businesses.
- Maintaining the cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment.
- Working effectively as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
Required Skills
- A full, valid UK driving license (Category B) with no more than 6 penalty points.
- A clean driving record for the past 2 years.
- Physical fitness required for the demands of the role, including lifting and standing.
- Strong commitment to learning and developing new skills.
- Excellent timekeeping and attendance.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role or outdoor work.
- Basic mechanical awareness or an interest in vehicle maintenance.
- Familiarity with the Hammersmith or broader London area.
