Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Scaffolding Supervisor to join our dynamic construction team based in Taunton, Somerset. This is a critical role responsible for overseeing all scaffolding operations on our major infrastructure projects, ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in scaffolding supervision, excellent leadership skills, and a strong commitment to health and safety standards. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate all scaffolding erection, alteration, and dismantling activities on site.
- Ensure all scaffolding works adhere strictly to project specifications, industry standards (e.g., TG20:13, SG4:15), and health and safety regulations.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks, risk assessments, and method statements for scaffolding operations.
- Inspect scaffolding regularly for structural integrity, stability, and safety compliance.
- Manage a team of scaffolders, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Liaise with site management, other supervisors, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
- Maintain accurate records of scaffolding inspections, materials, and personnel.
- Identify and mitigate potential hazards associated with scaffolding work.
- Order and manage scaffolding materials, ensuring optimal stock levels and timely delivery.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 4 years of experience as a Scaffolder, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- CISRS Advanced Scaffolder or Supervisor Card.
- Strong understanding of UK scaffolding regulations and best practices (e.g., Work at Height Regulations 2005).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret scaffolding designs and blueprints.
- Proven ability to conduct risk assessments and implement safe systems of work.
- Full valid driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Accessing Operations and Rigging (Construction) – Scaffolding.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
- Experience working on large-scale infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
