Job Description
As a Product Manager at Aviva, you will play a pivotal role in defining, developing, and launching innovative insurance and financial products that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will be responsible for the entire product lifecycle, from initial concept and market research to development, go-to-market strategy, and continuous improvement. Working within a dynamic, agile environment, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, design, marketing, and sales to deliver exceptional value. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking, technical understanding, and strong communication skills to translate complex ideas into clear product roadmaps and successful customer solutions. You will champion the customer voice, conduct thorough market analysis, and ensure our products remain competitive and compliant with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Define product vision, strategy, and roadmap in alignment with company objectives.
- Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and customer feedback sessions to identify opportunities and pain points.
- Translate customer needs and business requirements into detailed product specifications and user stories.
- Prioritise product backlog items and manage sprint planning with agile development teams.
- Collaborate with engineering, design, and QA teams throughout the product development lifecycle.
- Develop and execute go-to-market plans, coordinating with marketing and sales teams.
- Monitor product performance, gather insights, and iterate on existing products to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure products comply with relevant regulations and internal policies.
- Act as a product evangelist, communicating product value and benefits to internal stakeholders and external partners.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Product Manager in a technology or financial services environment.
- Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Demonstrated experience with product lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Aha!).
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Familiarity with UX/UI principles and design thinking methodologies.
- Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO) or similar certification.
