Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable School Crossing Patrol to ensure the safe passage of children and pedestrians across designated roads near schools in Sheffield. This vital community role involves regulating traffic and assisting children and adults at peak school times, contributing directly to the safety and well-being of our youngest residents. Full training will be provided, so no prior experience is necessary – just a commitment to safety and a friendly approach.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely guide children and other pedestrians across designated roads at school crossing points.
- Manage and control vehicular traffic to ensure safe passage during school start and end times.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines set by Sheffield City Council.
- Maintain a visible and friendly presence, interacting positively with children, parents, and the public.
- Report any incidents or concerns regarding road safety to the appropriate authorities.
- Ensure equipment (stop sign) is used correctly and maintained in good condition.

- A friendly and approachable demeanour with children and adults
- Successful completion of an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
