Job Description
Marine Atlantic is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Logistics Yard Gate Opener for our Sydney terminal. In this role, you will be responsible for the manual operation of entry and exit barriers, ensuring the smooth and secure flow of traffic within our logistics yard. This position requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work effectively in an outdoor environment in various weather conditions. You will be a key part of our operations team, contributing to the efficient movement of vehicles and cargo.
Key Responsibilities
- Manually open and close yard gates and barriers for incoming and outgoing vehicles.
- Verify credentials and authorize entry/exit based on established procedures.
- Direct drivers to appropriate staging areas or docks as per operational instructions.
- Maintain a clear and safe entry/exit point, reporting any hazards or obstructions.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, dispatch, and other yard personnel.
- Monitor yard activity and report any suspicious behaviour or security breaches.
- Complete daily logs and incident reports accurately.
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.

- Physical stamina to perform manual barrier operations and stand for extended periods in an outdoor environment.
