Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable individuals to join our team as a Seafood Sorter. This full-time, immediate hire position is based in our modern processing facility in Ballarat, Victoria. As a Seafood Sorter, you will be instrumental in the initial stages of seafood processing, ensuring all products meet our stringent quality and safety standards. No prior experience is required, as comprehensive training will be provided to all successful candidates. This role involves working in a temperature-controlled environment and requires attention to detail and a commitment to teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming seafood for freshness, quality, and any defects.
- Accurately sort seafood by species, size, and grade according to established company specifications.
- Remove any foreign materials, damaged product, or unsuitable items.
- Assist with basic processing tasks such as trimming, cleaning, or preparing seafood for packaging.
- Maintain a clean and hygienic work area in compliance with strict food safety regulations.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company procedures.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve production targets.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and observation skills.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, production-line environment.
- Capacity to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in a cool, refrigerated environment.
