Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our compassionate team in Birmingham. As a Senior Care Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in delivering person-centred care, ensuring the comfort, dignity, and independence of our residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care to residents, including assistance with bathing, dressing, mobility, and feeding.
- Administer medication as prescribed and record accurately, following all relevant policies and procedures.
- Lead and mentor junior care staff, ensuring high standards of care delivery.
- Develop and implement individual care plans, liaising with residents, their families, and healthcare professionals.
- Monitor residents' health and well-being, reporting any changes or concerns to the nursing staff.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Promote a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment for residents.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Care Assistant or similar role.
- NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Proven ability to administer medication safely and accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to care.
- Eligibility for Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) under UK immigration rules.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or working towards).
- Experience in a senior or supervisory care role.
- Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults.
- Proficiency in English (B1 level or higher for CoS eligibility).
