Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team in Laval, Quebec. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, preparing financial statements, and ensuring compliance with IFRS and company policies. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with IFRS and company policies.
- Manage general ledger accounts, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Support internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Analyze financial data and provide insights to management for decision-making.
- Mentor and guide junior accounting staff as required.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and tax obligations.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting.
- Professional accounting designation (CPA) or equivalent international qualification is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Proficiency in advanced accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- Experience with SAP or Oracle financial modules.
- Previous experience in a large multinational company or public accounting firm.
- Fluency in French is an asset.
