Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Richmond, CA. This crucial role involves managing complex financial records, preparing comprehensive financial reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in the month-end and year-end close processes, contribute to budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities
- Oversee general ledger operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, in accordance with GAAP.
- Lead the month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Support the annual audit process by preparing necessary documentation and responding to auditor inquiries.
- Contribute to the development and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and external regulatory requirements.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support business objectives.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as required by management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in financial accounting.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Workday Financials).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with large datasets and financial reporting tools.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA certification or actively pursuing.
- Master's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Experience in the healthcare industry.
- Familiarity with IFRS.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies.
