Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly creative Senior Video Editor to join our award-winning production team in Manchester. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, a strong storytelling ability, and a comprehensive understanding of post-production workflows. You will be instrumental in shaping the visual narrative of our diverse range of projects, from documentaries and dramas to promotional content and digital shorts, ensuring the highest quality output. This role demands a leader in the edit suite, capable of inspiring junior editors and consistently delivering exceptional results under tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the editing process for key projects, ensuring creative vision aligns with production goals.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior video editors, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Operate advanced editing software and equipment (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Avid Media Composer, DaVinci Resolve).
- Collaborate closely with producers, directors, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver final cuts.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines effectively.
- Oversee color grading, sound design, and motion graphics integration.
- Ensure all content adheres to brand guidelines, legal requirements, and broadcast standards.
- Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices in video editing.
Required Skills
- Extensive experience with Adobe Premiere Pro and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proven ability to craft compelling narratives through visual editing.
- Strong understanding of post-production workflows, including ingest, editing, sound mixing, and export.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrable portfolio of high-quality video editing work across various genres.
- Expertise in color correction and grading.
- Proficiency in sound design and audio mixing for video.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Avid Media Composer or DaVinci Resolve.
- Familiarity with motion graphics software (e.g., Adobe After Effects).
- Bachelor's degree in Film Production, Media Arts, or a related field.
- Previous experience in broadcast television or a major production studio.
- Leadership or supervisory experience in an editing team.
