Job Description
Are you a physically fit individual looking for stable, well-compensated work in a vital service industry? Solution Éco-Drainage RDL Inc. is seeking a dedicated Septic Tank Digging Assistant to join our growing team. This is an entry-level position where no prior experience is required – we provide comprehensive on-the-job training. You will be responsible for assisting our lead technicians in the manual excavation, maintenance, and repair of septic systems. While the work can be physically demanding and, at times, odorous, it offers excellent pay and the opportunity to learn valuable skills in a critical environmental service sector. We are looking for someone reliable, hardworking, and ready to contribute to our community’s infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the safe and efficient manual excavation to locate and access septic tanks and distribution fields.
- Help with the removal of earth and debris using shovels, picks, and other hand tools.
- Support lead technicians in performing septic tank pump-outs, inspections, and minor repairs.
- Load and unload equipment and materials from company vehicles.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area on job sites.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Operate and maintain basic hand tools and power equipment under supervision.
- Perform other general labor duties as assigned to support the team.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous manual labor for extended periods.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in environments that may be unpleasant or odorous.
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
- Experience operating basic construction or excavation equipment (an asset, but not required).
- First Aid and CPR certification (an asset).
