Job Description
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker specializing in Child Protection to join our dynamic team in Midtown Atlanta. This critical role involves working directly with children and families facing challenging circumstances, ensuring the safety, stability, and well-being of vulnerable youth. The successful candidate will conduct assessments, develop intervention plans, and provide ongoing support, connecting families with essential community resources. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments of children and families to determine needs and risks.
- Develop and implement individualized intervention and safety plans in collaboration with families and other professionals.
- Provide direct case management services, including counseling, advocacy, and referral to community resources.
- Monitor progress of cases, ensuring compliance with established plans and legal mandates.
- Prepare accurate and timely documentation, reports, and court testimonies as required.
- Collaborate effectively with law enforcement, schools, healthcare providers, and other community partners.
- Participate in team meetings, case reviews, and professional development activities.
- Respond to crisis situations and provide immediate support and intervention.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards.
Required Skills
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
- Active Social Work license or eligibility for licensure in the state of Georgia.
- Demonstrated knowledge of child development, family dynamics, and the impact of trauma.
- Strong assessment, crisis intervention, and case management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds.
- Proficiency in documenting case notes and preparing reports.
- Valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in child welfare, child protection, or family services.
- Bilingual proficiency (especially Spanish, Korean, or Vietnamese).
- Experience with court proceedings and legal documentation related to child protection.
- Familiarity with local Atlanta community resources and support networks.
