Job Description
Are you passionate about working with children and love the great outdoors? YMCA Toowoomba is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Camp Counselors to join our team for an unforgettable season of adventure, learning, and fun! This temporary role is perfect for individuals who are ready to inspire, lead, and create lasting memories for campers. No extensive prior experience? No problem! We provide comprehensive training for energetic individuals eager to learn and grow in a supportive environment. Come be a part of something special and make a real difference in young lives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and ensure the safety of campers during all activities, including swimming, sports, arts and crafts, and outdoor adventures.
- Plan and lead engaging age-appropriate activities and games.
- Serve as a positive role model, mentor, and guide for campers, fostering an inclusive and supportive camp environment.
- Assist with daily camp operations, including meal times, transitions, and maintaining cleanliness of facilities.
- Communicate effectively with fellow staff, campers, and parents/guardians.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and personal growth among campers.
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and follow emergency procedures.

- Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one).
