Job Description
Join NatCen Social Research as a Part-Time Survey Interviewer in Bath. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for conducting face-to-face interviews with members of the public, collecting vital data for our national research projects. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about contributing to a better understanding of society and influencing public policy. You will receive comprehensive training and ongoing support to ensure you are confident and capable in your role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conducting face-to-face interviews with members of the public using a laptop or tablet.
- Explaining the purpose of surveys and answering respondents' questions clearly and accurately.
- Ensuring the confidentiality of all collected data.
- Adhering to strict ethical guidelines and data protection regulations.
- Achieving agreed-upon interview targets and maintaining high data quality standards.
- Managing your own schedule efficiently to meet project deadlines.
- Travelling within the Bath area to various households.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build rapport with diverse individuals.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy (email, internet, data entry).
- Residency in or near Bath, UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in market research, customer service, or public-facing roles.
- A genuine interest in social issues and research.
- Ability to speak additional languages (desirable but not essential).
- Access to a car and a valid UK driving license (desirable, for wider reach).
