Job Description

Pilkington UK Ltd. is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Sustainability Reporting & Carbon Accounting Intern to join our team in St Helens. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for an individual with no prior professional experience, offering comprehensive training and hands-on exposure to real-world corporate sustainability practices. You will play a crucial role in supporting our efforts to accurately measure, report, and reduce our carbon emissions and overall environmental impact. This internship is designed to provide you with foundational knowledge and practical skills in environmental data management, carbon footprint analysis, and compliance with sustainability reporting frameworks. Full training will be provided to ensure your success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the collection, validation, and analysis of environmental data (e.g., energy consumption, waste generation, water usage).
  • Support the calculation and tracking of the company's carbon footprint across various scopes.
  • Contribute to the preparation of sustainability reports in line with relevant frameworks (e.g., ESG, TCFD, CSRD).
  • Help maintain and improve internal databases for environmental performance metrics.
  • Conduct research on emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices.
  • Support the development and implementation of carbon reduction initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather necessary information for reporting.
  • Perform ad-hoc tasks related to environmental management and sustainability projects.

Required Skills

  • Strong interest in sustainability, environmental science, or corporate social responsibility.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
