Job Description

Are you passionate about history, culture, and connecting with people? City Sightseeing York is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Tour Guide to join our dynamic team. As a Tour Guide, you will be the face of our company, providing engaging and informative commentary on our open-top bus tours, bringing the fascinating stories of York to life for our diverse range of passengers. You will be responsible for ensuring an enjoyable, safe, and memorable experience for every visitor, sharing your insights into York’s iconic landmarks, hidden gems, and captivating past. This role is perfect for someone with excellent public speaking skills, a keen interest in local history, and a desire to deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, informative, and entertaining commentary on City Sightseeing bus tours.
  • Share fascinating facts and stories about York's history, landmarks, and culture.
  • Ensure the safety and comfort of all passengers throughout the tour.
  • Interact positively with passengers, answering questions and providing assistance as needed.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and uphold the company's brand image.
  • Manage tour timings and schedules efficiently to ensure a smooth operation.
  • Stay updated on local events, attractions, and changes in the city to provide current information.
  • Assist with passenger boarding and disembarking when necessary.
