The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary is the uniformed, civilian volunteer component of the United States Coast Guard. We support the Coast Guard in nearly all of its missions, except for direct law enforcement and military operations. Our members are dedicated to promoting recreational boating safety, conducting vessel safety checks, providing public education, and assisting in environmental protection efforts. Flotilla 5-1 Shreveport serves the inland waterways and communities of Louisiana, contributing to national maritime safety and security initiatives.
Job Description
Join the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary as a Trainee and embark on a rewarding journey of public service. Key Responsibilities
- Actively participate in all assigned training modules and hands-on exercises.
- Learn and apply principles of recreational boating safety and maritime operations.
- Assist in conducting vessel safety checks under supervision.
- Support public education initiatives on boating safety and environmental awareness.
- Participate in local flotilla meetings and community service events.
- Adhere to all U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary regulations and safety protocols.
- Contribute to administrative tasks and operational planning as needed.
- Develop proficiency in basic seamanship and navigation concepts.
