Job Description

Ehrlich Pest Control is looking for a motivated and eager individual to join our team as a Trainee Pest Control Technician in Allentown, PA. We will provide you with all the knowledge, skills, a company van, and equipment needed to become a successful, licensed pest control professional. Key Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in and complete all required training programs to learn pest identification, biology, treatment methods, safety protocols, and company policies.
  • Shadow and assist experienced technicians on service calls, observing best practices for inspections and treatments at residential and commercial properties.
  • Learn to safely and effectively apply pesticides and other pest control products in accordance with all local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Operate and maintain company equipment, including your assigned company vehicle, ensuring it is clean, organized, and in good working order.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, explaining services performed, findings, and preventative recommendations.
  • Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and digital documentation related to service visits.
  • Adhere to all company safety guidelines and contribute to a safe working environment.
  • Develop a strong understanding of integrated pest management (IPM) principles and techniques.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, building rapport and trust with clients.

Required Skills

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to operate a company vehicle.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric attitude.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
  • Excellent work ethic and a desire to learn and grow.
  • Comfortable working independently and outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 50 lbs and climb ladders when necessary.
  • Comfortable working in confined spaces (e.g., crawl spaces, attics) and at heights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a customer service or field-based role.
  • Basic computer literacy.
  • An interest in science, biology, or environmental studies.
