Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Portfolio Manager to join our dynamic team in Salford. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing discretionary investment portfolios for a diverse range of clients, ensuring their financial objectives are met through robust investment strategies and proactive client engagement. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to combine collaborative office work with the flexibility of remote working.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor a portfolio of discretionary client accounts, ensuring alignment with client objectives, risk profiles, and investment policies.
- Develop and implement appropriate investment strategies across various asset classes, including equities, fixed income, and alternative investments.
- Conduct thorough research and due diligence on investment opportunities and market trends.
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates on portfolio performance, market outlook, and strategic adjustments.
- Maintain strong client relationships, understanding their evolving needs and providing tailored financial advice.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including financial planners and research analysts, to deliver comprehensive client solutions.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in managing discretionary investment portfolios for private clients.
- Deep understanding of financial markets, investment products, and asset allocation principles.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a client-centric approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- CFA Charterholder or equivalent professional qualification (e.g., CISI Level 6/7).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with specialist wealth management software.
- Knowledge of sustainable and ESG investing principles.
- Postgraduate degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Existing client book or network.
