Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic UX Tester to join our team in Sheffield. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring our games provide an intuitive, enjoyable, and accessible experience for players. You will work closely with UX designers, game designers, and development teams to identify usability issues, gather player feedback, and contribute to the iterative design process that shapes our next generation of titles.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct user testing sessions, including moderated and unmoderated tests, surveys, and interviews.
- Observe and record user interactions, behaviors, and feedback during gameplay sessions.
- Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify usability issues, pain points, and areas for improvement.
- Compile detailed reports and presentations summarizing test findings, insights, and recommendations.
- Collaborate with UX/UI designers, game designers, and development teams to communicate findings and propose solutions.
- Assist in the creation of user testing plans, scripts, and participant recruitment.
- Stay updated on industry best practices, user research methodologies, and emerging trends in game UX.
Required Skills
- Proven ability to critically analyze user interactions and identify design flaws.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate findings clearly and concisely.
- Basic understanding of user experience principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace).
- A genuine passion for video games and understanding player motivations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a testing, QA, or user research role, ideally within the games industry.
- Familiarity with various user research methods (e.g., usability testing, A/B testing, surveys).
- Experience with user research tools or analytics platforms.
- Degree in Psychology, Human-Computer Interaction, Game Design, or a related field.
