Job Description
Are you an experienced and reliable Van Driver looking for an immediate start? Join Hermes (Evri), a leading parcel delivery company, and become a vital part of our logistics team in Swadlincote. We are looking for dedicated individuals who are ready to hit the road and ensure timely and safe deliveries to our valued customers. If you have a passion for driving and excellent customer service skills, we want to hear from you! As a Van Driver with Hermes (Evri), you will be responsible for the efficient and safe delivery and collection of parcels within a designated local area. You will manage your route effectively, ensuring all deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition, upholding our commitment to customer satisfaction. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload parcels onto/from the delivery van.
- Complete multi-drop deliveries and collections within specified timeframes.
- Navigate designated routes using provided technology and local knowledge.
- Provide excellent customer service during all interactions at delivery points.
- Perform daily vehicle checks and maintain the cleanliness and roadworthiness of the company van.
- Accurately complete all necessary paperwork and use hand-held delivery devices.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies.
Required Skills
- Full UK driving license with no more than 6 penalty points.
- Proven experience as a Van Driver or in a multi-drop delivery role (minimum 6 months).
- Good geographical knowledge of Swadlincote and surrounding Derbyshire areas.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Physically fit and capable of handling parcels of varying sizes and weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with parcel delivery systems and handheld devices.
- A clean driving record is highly desirable.
- Experience working in a fast-paced logistics environment.
- Familiarity with Hermes (Evri) or similar delivery operations.
