Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Venture Philanthropy Analyst Intern to join our team, focusing on impact investing initiatives. This entry-level internship provides an unparalleled opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the growing field of impact investing and venture philanthropy within a global financial services firm. The intern will support our efforts to identify, evaluate, and monitor investments that aim to generate both financial returns and measurable positive social and environmental impact. Full training and mentorship will be provided, making this an ideal role for individuals with a strong interest in the sector but no prior professional experience. You will contribute to meaningful projects, develop analytical skills, and understand the intricacies of deploying capital for good.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on potential impact investment opportunities, social enterprises, and philanthropic ventures across various sectors.
  • Assist in the due diligence process for new impact investments, including market research and financial analysis support.
  • Prepare concise summaries, presentations, and reports for internal stakeholders on impact trends and potential projects.
  • Support the monitoring and evaluation of existing impact investments, collecting and analyzing performance data.
  • Help maintain databases and tracking systems for impact metrics and portfolio performance.
  • Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and educational workshops.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects related to sustainability, ESG, and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

Required Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated interest in impact investing, venture philanthropy, social impact, or sustainable development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences, Environmental Studies, or a related field.
  • Prior coursework or academic projects related to finance, sustainability, non-profits, or social entrepreneurship.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts and investment principles.
