Job Description
Are you passionate about technology and ensuring that digital experiences are accessible to everyone? Intel is seeking a dedicated Virtual Website Accessibility Tester to join our team. This is a 100% remote position, open to candidates eager to learn and grow in the field of digital accessibility. We especially welcome individuals with personal or professional experience using screen reader technologies to navigate websites. You will play a crucial role in evaluating web applications and digital content to identify accessibility barriers, contributing to a more inclusive online world. Full training on accessibility standards and testing methodologies will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform manual and automated accessibility testing on websites and web applications using various tools and techniques.
- Utilize screen reader technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) to simulate user experiences and identify accessibility issues.
- Document accessibility defects clearly and concisely, including steps to reproduce and expected behavior.
- Collaborate with development and design teams to explain accessibility findings and propose solutions.
- Stay informed about current web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1/2.2) and best practices.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of accessibility testing processes and guidelines.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in basic computer usage and web navigation.
- Demonstrated experience (personal or professional) using screen reader technologies (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver) to interact with digital content.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to learn new tools and technologies quickly.
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively in a remote team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript).
- Basic understanding of WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).
- Experience with other assistive technologies.
- Prior experience in quality assurance or testing roles.
