Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Vocational Education Coordinator to join our team in Lismore. This pivotal role involves coordinating the development, delivery, and quality assurance of vocational education and training programs aligned with state government objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with training providers, industry stakeholders, and community groups to ensure program relevance, compliance, and positive outcomes for learners. Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the implementation and monitoring of vocational education and training programs within the Lismore region.
  • Liaise with RTOs, TAFE NSW, and other training providers to ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Engage with local industries and employers to identify skill gaps and inform program development.
  • Manage program budgets, administrative processes, and reporting requirements.
  • Provide advice and support to stakeholders on funding initiatives and training pathways.
  • Monitor learner progress and program outcomes, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Organize and facilitate meetings, workshops, and information sessions for stakeholders.
  • Contribute to policy implementation and strategic planning for vocational training.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in vocational education and training (VET) or adult education.
  • Strong understanding of VET regulatory frameworks and funding models in NSW.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with relevant VET management systems.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region as required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Education, Training, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent).
  • Experience working within a state government or public sector environment.
  • Knowledge of the Lismore and Northern Rivers regional industries and employment landscape.
