Job Description
We are seeking a proactive and analytically-minded Warehouse Solutions Analyst with an Automation Focus to join our team in Port Lincoln. This role is crucial for optimizing our warehouse operations by leveraging data-driven insights and implementing cutting-edge automation technologies. You will be responsible for analyzing current processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and deploy automated solutions that enhance efficiency and productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct in-depth analysis of existing warehouse processes, layouts, and material flow to identify inefficiencies and areas ripe for automation.
- Research, evaluate, and propose innovative automation technologies, including but not limited to robotics, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems (AS/RS), and advanced Warehouse Management System (WMS) functionalities.
- Develop detailed business cases, cost-benefit analyses, and project plans for proposed automation initiatives.
- Collaborate closely with operations, IT, and engineering teams during the design, testing, and implementation phases of new solutions.
- Monitor the performance of implemented automation systems, analyze data for continuous improvement, and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Provide training and support to operational staff on new automated systems and updated processes.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in warehouse automation and logistics.
- Support overall project management activities to ensure timely and budget-compliant delivery of solutions.
Required Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SQL, Power BI).
- Solid understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics principles.
- Demonstrated familiarity with various warehouse automation technologies and their practical applications.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively collaborating with diverse teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a logistics, supply chain, or analytical role with an automation component.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) configuration, implementation, or optimization.
- Proficiency in CAD software for warehouse layout and design.
- Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt or Green Belt certification.
- Experience working in a large-scale distribution or manufacturing environment.
