Job Description

WSP Global Inc. is seeking a passionate and dedicated Wildlife Biologist / Ecologist to join our dynamic environmental team in Montreal. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct fieldwork for wildlife surveys, habitat assessments, and ecological inventories.
  • Analyze ecological data, prepare technical reports, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the preparation of environmental impact assessments (EIAs) and regulatory applications.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders on project execution.
  • Utilize GIS and other spatial analysis tools for data management and mapping.
  • Stay informed of relevant environmental legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Participate in proposal development and client presentations as required.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Wildlife Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in wildlife biology or ecological consulting.
  • Proficiency in species identification (e.g., avian, mammalian, herpetofauna).
  • Experience with various field survey techniques and data collection methods.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret ecological data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; French is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with environmental legislation and regulations, particularly in a Canadian context.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel for fieldwork.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS Pro).
  • Prior experience working in a consulting environment.
  • Knowledge of Canadian environmental policies and guidelines.
  • Professional designation (e.g., P. Biol, R.P.Bio) or eligibility to obtain one.
  • Fluency in French.
