Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Wind Farm Maintenance Technician to join our growing team in Miramichi, New Brunswick. This role involves the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wind turbine generators and associated equipment. As a crucial member of our operations, you will ensure the efficient and safe operation of our wind energy assets. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic issues on wind turbines.
- Execute repairs and replacements of components as necessary, adhering to safety protocols and technical specifications.
- Conduct comprehensive inspections to identify potential issues and ensure optimal turbine performance.
- Utilize SCADA systems for monitoring turbine performance and collecting data.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
- Adhere strictly to all safety regulations, company policies, and environmental guidelines.
- Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs outside of regular working hours.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize turbine efficiency and reliability.
Required Skills
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical manuals.
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Valid driver's license.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety and ability to follow strict safety procedures.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and system monitoring.
- Effective communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary diploma or certificate in a relevant technical field (e.g., Wind Turbine Technology, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering Technology).
- GWO (Global Wind Organisation) certifications (First Aid, Manual Handling, Fire Awareness, Working at Heights, Sea Survival if applicable).
- Experience with various wind turbine technologies and manufacturers (e.g., Siemens Gamesa, Vestas, GE).
- Familiarity with SCADA systems.
- Confined space and fall protection training.
