Key Responsibilities

  • Undergo extensive training to develop expertise in wind turbine blade inspection techniques and safety protocols.
  • Assist senior inspectors in conducting visual and tactile inspections of wind turbine blades for damage, wear, and defects.
  • Learn to meticulously document inspection findings, take photographs, and prepare detailed reports using specialized software.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, especially when working at height.
  • Operate and maintain specialized climbing and inspection equipment safely and effectively.
  • Travel frequently to various wind farm locations across the UK, sometimes for extended periods.
  • Participate in regular team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement within the team.

Required Skills

  • Demonstrated comfort and confidence working at significant heights (e.g., scaffolding, ropes, ladders).
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across the UK, often requiring overnight stays.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to identify subtle imperfections.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to strict safety procedures.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good physical condition and ability to perform manual tasks in varying weather conditions.
  • Possession of a valid UK Driving License is essential.
  • No prior experience in wind turbine inspection is required; full training will be provided.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic understanding or interest in mechanical systems or renewable energy.
  • Previous experience in outdoor work, construction, or roles requiring comfort with heights.
  • Relevant certifications such as GWO (Global Wind Organisation) Basic Safety Training (training can be provided).
