Job Description
Centra Windows is seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our installation team as a Window Installation Glass Carrier in Ajax, Ontario. This vital role involves the safe and efficient handling and transportation of glass units, frames, and other window components to and from our installation sites. You will be an essential part of a dynamic team, ensuring our high-quality products are delivered and positioned with the utmost care. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is strong, meticulous, and thrives in a team-oriented, hands-on environment. Full training will be provided for candidates who demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely load, unload, and transport large and heavy glass units, window frames, and related materials to and from job sites.
- Assist skilled installers in carefully positioning and securing windows during the installation process.
- Operate specialized lifting and carrying equipment (e.g., glass dollies, suction cups) as required, after proper training.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and job site, ensuring all tools and materials are stored safely.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Communicate effectively with team members and site supervisors to ensure smooth project execution.
- Perform other general labour duties as needed to support the installation team.
Required Skills
- Ability to consistently lift and carry heavy objects (up to 100 lbs with assistance, 50 lbs independently).
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for a demanding role.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to careful, precise handling of fragile materials.
- Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a positive attitude.
- Valid G class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Basic understanding of construction site safety or willingness to learn.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a physically demanding role, construction, warehousing, or moving industry.
- Working at Heights training and/or First Aid certification.
- Experience with glass handling equipment.
