Job Description

As a Remote Live Chat Agent at TELUS, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional support exclusively through text-based chat. This is a 100% remote position, allowing you to work from the comfort of your home while helping customers resolve inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and navigate our services. We are looking for empathetic, detail-oriented individuals who are skilled at communicating clearly and concisely in writing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with customers via live text chat to provide assistance and resolve inquiries efficiently.
  • Effectively identify customer needs and provide accurate, timely, and complete information.
  • Troubleshoot basic technical issues and guide customers through step-by-step solutions.
  • Escalate complex issues to the appropriate department when necessary to ensure prompt resolution.
  • Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and foster a positive customer experience.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures, including all data privacy and security protocols.
  • Document all customer interactions accurately and thoroughly within the CRM system.

Required Skills

  • Excellent written communication skills in English, with a strong command of grammar and spelling.
  • Demonstrated strong typing speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask effectively, managing multiple chat conversations and navigating various systems simultaneously.
  • High school diploma or equivalent educational background.
  • Basic computer proficiency and comfort with online communication tools and software.
  • A proactive problem-solving attitude and the ability to think critically under pressure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in French (written and spoken) is considered a strong asset, especially for our Quebec customers.
  • Previous experience in a customer service, live chat, or call center environment.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications products and services.
  • Experience using CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, Zendesk).
