Job Description
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Graduate Nursing Interns to join our Transition to Practice Program. This immersive program is designed for newly qualified nurses eager to kickstart their careers in a supportive and comprehensive healthcare environment. You will gain invaluable practical experience across various clinical settings, under the guidance of experienced mentors and clinical educators. This program is tailored to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and real-world nursing practice, equipping you with the confidence and skills to excel as a registered nurse. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, ensuring a smooth and rewarding transition into professional nursing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centered nursing care under supervision.
- Assist in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
- Administer medications safely and accurately following hospital policies.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive patient records.
- Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
- Participate actively in ward rounds, educational sessions, and clinical supervision.
- Adhere to all hospital policies, procedures, and professional standards of practice.
- Prioritise patient safety and contribute to a positive and healing environment.
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development activities.

Required Skills
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (or eligibility for registration upon program commencement).
- Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered care.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Basic computer literacy.
- A desire to learn and develop professional nursing skills.
- No previous experience required; full training provided.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting (e.g., as an Assistant in Nursing or student placement) is desirable but not essential.
- Demonstrated understanding of contemporary nursing practice principles.
