Job Description

We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join our team as a Mining Engineering Cadet. This is a unique entry-level opportunity designed for candidates with little to no prior experience in mining. Based in Mount Barker, you will participate in a regional Fly-In, Fly-Out (FIFO) roster to one of our world-class mine sites in South Australia. This cadetship offers comprehensive training, mentorship, and a clear pathway to a rewarding career in mining engineering. You will gain hands-on experience, supporting engineering teams in various operational aspects of mining.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in extensive training programs covering mining operations, safety protocols, and engineering principles.
  • Assist senior mining engineers with data collection, analysis, and report generation.
  • Learn about mine planning, design, and scheduling processes.
  • Support the implementation of safety procedures and environmental compliance.
  • Observe and contribute to operational activities on site, including drilling, blasting, loading, and hauling.
  • Attend team meetings and contribute to discussions on operational improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety standards and procedures.

Required Skills

  • No prior mining experience required – full training provided.
  • Completion of Year 12 or equivalent.
  • Strong interest in a career in mining engineering.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enrolment or intent to enrol in a relevant engineering degree (e.g., Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering).
  • Current C-class driver's license.
