Job Description
Royal Mail Group is seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our team as an Entry Level Mailroom Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start their career in an office environment, as no prior experience is required. We are committed to providing full training and support to help you succeed in this vital role. You will be an integral part of our daily operations, ensuring the smooth flow of internal and external communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Sort, distribute, and collect incoming and outgoing mail, parcels, and packages.
- Operate mailroom equipment such as franking machines, scanners, and mail sorters.
- Prepare documents for dispatch, including packing and labelling.
- Maintain accurate records of mail activities and deliveries.
- Assist with inventory management of mailroom supplies.
- Ensure the mailroom is kept clean, organised, and compliant with safety standards.
- Provide support to other administrative functions as required.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, especially regarding data privacy and security.
Required Skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
- Basic computer literacy (e.g., email, simple data entry).
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Physical ability to lift and move mail bins and packages (within reasonable limits).

Preferred Qualifications
- GCSEs or equivalent qualification in English and Maths.
- Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role (even if informal).
