Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and patient-focused Pharmacist to join our dedicated team in Portsmouth. In this vital role, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive pharmaceutical care, dispensing prescriptions accurately, and offering expert health advice to our community. You will play a crucial part in promoting health and well-being, ensuring safe and effective medication use, and maintaining high standards of clinical practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescriptions and provide clear instructions to patients.
  • Offer professional advice on medication, health conditions, and lifestyle choices.
  • Conduct medication reviews and provide clinical services such as vaccinations and health checks.
  • Manage and maintain stock levels of medicines and healthcare products.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and support staff, fostering a collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards for pharmacy practice.
  • Handle patient queries and concerns with empathy and professionalism.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and training.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) or Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree.
  • Current registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient care and professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Independent Prescriber qualification.
  • Experience with pharmacy management software systems.
  • Additional certifications in specialized areas (e.g., advanced clinical practice, public health).
  • Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting.
