Job Description
Rev.com is seeking detail-oriented and meticulous individuals to join our remote team as Transcription Quality Checkers. This is a 100% remote, part-time position with flexible hours, allowing you to work from anywhere. As a Quality Checker, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of accuracy and grammar for our transcribed audio and video content. You will review completed transcription projects, identify and correct errors, and provide constructive feedback to transcribers. If you have exceptional listening skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong command of the English language, we encourage you to apply. Full training on our quality guidelines and tools will be provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Review transcribed audio/video files for accuracy, grammar, punctuation, and formatting errors.
- Compare transcripts against original audio/video to ensure complete and faithful representation.
- Apply Rev.com's specific style guide and quality standards to all reviewed content.
- Provide clear, concise, and constructive feedback to transcribers to help improve their performance.
- Maintain a high level of productivity while ensuring consistent quality across all assigned projects.
- Collaborate with the quality assurance team to refine guidelines and best practices.
- Manage project deadlines effectively to ensure timely delivery of high-quality transcripts.
Required Skills
- Excellent command of the English language, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
- Superior listening and comprehension skills, even with challenging audio.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to spot subtle errors.
- Proficiency with word processing software and online editing tools.
- Reliable internet connection and a quiet workspace.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a remote environment.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in transcription, proofreading, editing, or quality assurance.
- Familiarity with various accents and dialects.
- Experience with different audio/video file formats and playback tools.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- Typing speed of 60 WPM or higher.
